The decomposing body of a missing Nakuru man, Paul Cheruiyot Rop, has been discovered in the Mau Forest Complex over a month after he disappeared from his home.

• The search for Paul Cheruiyot Rop, a resident of Mulango area in Arorwet village, Kuresoi Constituency, concluded tragically after his body was found on Sunday, June 07, 2026.
• His widow, Ms Margaret Rop, and his brother, Dr Wilson Kipsang Rop, positively identified the remains.
• Investigators revealed that Mr Rop, a tea farmer and father of four, had unusual behavior before his disappearance, leaving his phone at home and wearing two jackets, and was last seen boarding a matatu towards Silibwet trading centre in Bomet County before alighting at a footpath into the Mau forest.
