A man has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for the 2021 murder of an unarmed victim in Kisumu. The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) secured the conviction.

• The suspect, Sebby Roy Oyugi, was found guilty of murdering David Omondi Haya on June 3, 2021.
• The Kisumu High Court, presided over by Justice Joe M. Omido, delivered the verdict and sentence.
• Evidence included eyewitness accounts and DNA matching blood stains on the knife to the deceased.
