The National Police Service (NPS) is set to implement an intelligence-led crime prevention system in Nairobi as a pilot project to modernize policing nationwide.

• The initiative was inspired by a benchmarking tour of the Japan National Police Agency and the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department by Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, and other officials.
• Nairobi's crime prevention system aims to strengthen urban security by combining specialized metropolitan capabilities with community engagement.
• This move follows a similar trip by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja to the New York Police Department (NYPD).
