Members of the Makueni County Assembly have approved a substantial budget of KSh12.4 billion for the 2026/2027 Financial Year.

• The budget outlines funding sources including an equitable share of KSh9 billion, own source revenue of KSh1.6 billion, and conditional grants/loans totaling KSh1.3 billion.
• The Health Department has been allocated the largest portion, receiving KSh4.9 billion for various health facilities across the county.
• Key departments receiving significant funding also include ICT, Education and Internship (KSh1.1 billion) and Water and Sanitation (KSh876 million); with additional allocations for agriculture and county government operations.
