A parliamentary committee has dismissed bribery allegations against Bumula MP Jack Wanami Wamboka, which were used to remove him as the chair of the Public Investment Committee (PIC).

• The National Assembly Committee on Powers and Privileges rejected two counts of bribery leveled against Mr. Wamboka.
• The allegations stemmed from a complaint by former National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) chairperson, Rev Dr Samuel Kobia.
• Despite clearing him of bribery, the committee upheld claims that Mr. Wamboka harassed witnesses and recommended he be barred from leadership roles in oversight committees for the remainder of the 13th Parliament.
