A parliamentary committee has cleared Bumula MP Jack Wamboka of bribery allegations used to remove him from his committee chairmanship, but has upheld claims of witness harassment.

• The National Assembly Committee on Powers and Privileges dismissed bribery claims filed by former NCIC chairperson Rev Dr Samuel Kobia.
• Despite this, the committee recommended Mr. Wamboka be barred from leading oversight committees for the remainder of the 13th Parliament.
• Mr. Wamboka had asserted the complaint was an attempt to shield former NCIC commissioners from scrutiny over alleged misuse of public funds.
