Kenya's Principal Secretary for the State Department for Science, Research and Innovation, Shaukat Abdulrazak, has urged African nuclear regulators to urgently develop robust, future-ready oversight systems as the continent increases its use of nuclear technologies.

• The call came during the 23rd Steering Committee Meeting of the Forum of Nuclear Regulatory Bodies in Africa (FRNBA).
• PS Abdulrazak emphasized the need for independent and responsive regulatory institutions to manage emerging technological and safety challenges.
• He also called for expanded nuclear science training programs to cultivate the next generation of African experts.
