Principal Secretary Prof. Shaukat Abdulrazak has called for enhanced regulatory systems to bolster nuclear safety and security across Africa. The call came during the closing ceremony of the 23rd Meeting of the Steering Committee of the Forum of Nuclear Regulatory Bodies in Africa (FNRBA) in Mombasa.

• The need for independent, credible, and sustainable regulatory systems to ensure the safe use of nuclear science and technology.
• Key stakeholders include regulators, policymakers, and technical experts from across the continent, with support from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
• Emphasis on regional cooperation, harmonisation of regulatory approaches, knowledge sharing, and capacity building for a new generation of experts.
