Kenya's Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir has officially denied reports linking Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo and his company IMC Construction to the multi-billion-shilling expansion of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

• The project's estimated cost is Ksh154.2 billion, not the widely reported Ksh375 billion.
• The Kenyan government, through CS Chirchir, stated that Chivayo's company did not submit a bid and has no involvement in the tender process or the project.
• The expansion, aimed at addressing increased passenger and cargo traffic, will involve airfield improvements, terminal renovations, and a new passenger terminal, with completion expected within three years of contract award.
