An angry mob set a private van ablaze on Friday morning following a fatal road accident that claimed the lives of a Kaptik Secondary School student and a boda boda rider along the Chavakali-Kapsabet road.

• Two people died instantly, and three other students were seriously injured.
• The accident involved a 14-seater van and a motorcycle carrying students.
• Residents also barricaded the road, disrupting transport and calling for stricter traffic enforcement after a similar tragedy just four months prior.
