Residents of Kimng’orom village in Baringo, Kenya, are celebrating the end of years of communication isolation following the commissioning of a new mobile network booster station.

• The booster station, activated on June 17, was a result of a presidential pledge made by President William Ruto on January 9 after residents shouted, "Hatuna network!" (We have no network!).
• The project was implemented by the Communications Authority through its Universal Service Fund programme in partnership with mobile operators.
• This development brings critical services like mobile money, internet access, and emergency communication to an area previously cut off due to its rugged terrain.
