A 70-year-old widow, Janet Nyaguthi, and her family are facing homelessness after being evicted from their South B, Nairobi home of over 20 years, despite having an eviction-blocking order.

• The eviction occurred on June 17, despite a tribunal order issued on June 16 restraining the move.
• The widow claims ownership and has been paying land rates to City Hall, stating the individuals serving the eviction order, Harun Nyakundi Nyambariga and Carren Moraa Tweya, are strangers.
• The eviction was based on an order stemming from a case where Nyaguthi was accused of defaulting on a Sh50,000 monthly rent, orders granted in her absence.
