Kenya's Parliament has approved the establishment of a National Cybersecurity Agency (NCSA), a move by the Ministry of Interior to bolster the nation's defenses against increasing cyber threats.

The NCSA will act as an autonomous regulatory and technical body to coordinate national cybersecurity efforts and protect the country's digital infrastructure.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen highlighted the agency's role in addressing gaps against fraud, ransomware, and attacks on critical infrastructure.
The government sought Ksh4 billion to establish the agency, which will be operational under the National Cybersecurity Agency Order, 2026.
