Residents in western and central Kenya are warned to expect heavier-than-normal rainfall until June 30.

The IGAD Climate Prediction and Application Centre (IGAD CPAC) forecasts rainfall between 50 and 200 millimetres in affected counties.
Affected western counties include Kisii, Nyamira, Kisumu, Kakamega, and others, while central regions include Nyeri, Muranga, Kiambu, and more.
This forecast aligns with predictions from the Kenya Meteorological Service Authority (KMSA) and anticipates potential El Niño conditions later in the year.
