Kuresoi North MP Alfred Mutai has been released on a sh100,000 bond or 50,000 cash bail by a Nakuru court after his arrest on Monday night.

• The MP is being investigated for arson and assault causing bodily harm following chaos at a fundraising event last Friday, which resulted in five people sustaining gunshot wounds and four vehicles being destroyed.
• Key individuals involved include Kuresoi North MP Alfred Mutai and Nakuru Governor Susan Kikwai.
• The court ordered Mutai to report to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) thrice a week for the next three weeks, noting that investigators had not yet completed their probe or obtained a charge sheet.
