Chief Justice Martha Koome has urged the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to firmly punish masterminds of electoral violence, emphasizing the need for accountability in Kenya's democracy.

• IEBC must enforce the Electoral Code of Conduct without fear or favour, as affirmed by the Supreme Court in the IEBC vs. Sabina Chege (2023) case.
• Political violence, hate speech, and criminal gangs have no place in democracy, stated the Chief Justice at the launch of the IEBC Strategic Plan 2024–2029 and Election Operations Plan in Nairobi.
• The Chief Justice also called for Parliament to prioritize electoral law reforms and for stronger cybersecurity measures to protect digital election systems.
