The State Department for Devolution, through the World Bank-funded Second Kenya Devolution Support Program (KDSP II), has launched a new framework across all 47 Counties to enhance safety, social inclusion, and environmental standards for development projects.

• The Environmental, Social, Health and Safety Risks and Impact Management Framework aims to ensure projects are environmentally sustainable, socially inclusive, and safe.
• Samuel Nyaga, KDSP II National Program Coordinator, emphasized the shift from basic knowledge to practical application of safeguard procedures.
• The framework mandates counties align infrastructure projects with national and international standards, improve grievance redress mechanisms, and integrate environmental and safety rules from project inception.
