The United States has imposed sanctions on individuals and companies allegedly involved in trafficking minerals from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), warning African traders and financial institutions against participating in illicit mineral deals.

• Four companies and two individuals, primarily linked to Rwanda, have been sanctioned for their alleged role in smuggling minerals from eastern DRC.
