The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has reignited plans for the Nairobi-Kiambu Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Line 2 project, aiming to introduce direct electric bus services from Kiambu to the Nairobi Central Business District and Kenyatta National Hospital.

• The 27.4-kilometre corridor will operate along the Thika Superhighway.
• Key organizations involved include KeNHA and the Nairobi Metropolitan Area Transport Authority.
• The project, supported by a Ksh8.7 billion financing agreement with the U.S., will feature dedicated bus lanes and electric buses to reduce travel times and emissions.
