Kirinyaga County is nearing a major financial milestone, set to collect over Ksh.1 billion in Own Source Revenue (OSR) for the first time, driven by a remarkable 44 percent growth.

• The county has already collected Ksh.779.54 million in the first nine months of the 2025/26 financial year, surpassing its annual target by 102 percent.
• This significant increase is attributed to improved health services and the automation of revenue collection systems, as highlighted in a report by the Office of the Controller of Budget (COB).
• Governor Anne Waiguru credits the sustained growth to financial and digital reforms implemented since 2017, including the digitization of revenue collection through the Kiripay system.
