The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) ranger, Corporal Leonard Ochieng Odero, found dead in Lake Nakuru National Park, is now the subject of a murder investigation after a postmortem ruled out suicide.

• The autopsy revealed three fatal gunshot wounds inconsistent with self-inflicted injury, indicating massive blood loss and severe head and chest trauma.
• Detectives from Bondeni Police Station are investigating the death of Cpl Odero, initially reported as a suicide at the Honeymoon Camp.
• Investigators are examining a recovered note and six spent cartridges found at the scene.
