The Kenya Editors Guild (KEG) has strongly condemned the shutdown of Uganda's Nation Media Group outlets by Chief of Defence Forces Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

• The shutdown, ordered by Muhoozi Kainerugaba, targeted Daily Monitor and NTV Uganda, reportedly due to critical publications.
• KEG President Zubeidah Kananu emphasized that media freedom is a fundamental right, not a privilege.
• The guild condemned the use of military force and called for the immediate restoration of access to the affected media premises and respect for due process.
