The Mama Rachel Ruto Specialist Hospital–Mutuini in Dagoretti South, Nairobi, has been significantly expanded to a 400-bed facility to bolster Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and enhance access to specialized healthcare.

Expanded from 40 to 400 beds, the hospital is now a Level 5 specialist referral center.
The expansion is a key part of Kenya’s healthcare reform agenda under the Every Woman Every Newborn Everywhere (EWENE) framework.
It will offer advanced maternity, newborn care, ICU, renal services, and innovative neonatal support including human milk banks, and aims to serve nearly 1.5 million patients annually.
