The Taveta-Holili One-Stop Border Post (OSBP) is experiencing record trade transactions, largely driven by small-scale traders benefiting from East African Community (EAC) trade facilitation measures.
- Between July 2024 and December 2025, 9,660 Simplified Certificates of Origin (SCOs) were issued to Kenyan traders exporting to Tanzania, enabling duty-free access for goods up to Sh250,000.
- The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) are facilitating this growth.
- Truck traffic at the OSBP increased by 7.57% in the first half of the 2025-2026 financial year compared to the previous year, indicating a strong upward trend in regional commerce.
