Nyamira County Assembly Deputy Clerk and Director of Finance, Leonard Kevin Nyamasege, was apprehended by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) after being found hiding in his home's ceiling.

• The arrest is related to an alleged Sh30.2 million procurement fraud concerning the construction of an office block.
• Nyamasege, an em-Deputy Clerk and Director of Finance, was reportedly captured on CCTV climbing into the roof space to evade arrest.
• He faces charges including abuse of office and willful failure to comply with laws relating to public funds, alongside five other suspects.
