The National Youth Council (NYC) has denied reports circulating on social media claiming they called for the resignation of Youth Affairs Principal Secretary Fikirini Jacobs following the alleged shooting of youth mobiliser Cecil Ouma on June 30.

The NYC stated it has neither made nor sanctioned any calls for the PS's removal and has asked the public to disregard the reports as fake.
Principal Secretary Fikirini Jacobs has recorded a statement as police investigate the incident, with seven people, including two bodyguards, also assisting with the investigation.
The incident reportedly occurred after a dispute over a cash token during a youth empowerment programme in Kariokor, Nairobi County.
