Women are being urged to lead grassroots peace efforts and unify communities, as highlighted at the 2026 Kenya Women’s Peace Conference in Nairobi. The event, organized by the International Women's Peace Group (IWPG), emphasized that sustainable peace begins at the local level.

About 50 participants from various organizations attended the conference themed “Women Leading Peace: Connecting Women for Sustainable Peace in Kenya.”
IWPG Chairwoman Na Yeong Jeon stressed that lasting peace requires collective action from ordinary citizens, especially women, drawing parallels with South Korea's development experience.
The conference showcased IWPG's peace initiatives in Kenya, including the Peace Culture Festival and "Peace Talk" dialogue sessions.
