Six Kenyan small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are among nineteen companies across Kenya, Nigeria, and Ethiopia that have secured $1.5 million (Sh181 million) in funding to expand access to income-generating solar appliances.

• The funding, part of the Productive Use Financing Facility (PUFF) managed by CLASP, aims to deploy 3,800 productive use equipment, supporting over 3,000 green jobs.
• Key beneficiaries in Kenya include Agsol Ltd, Epicentre Africa Ltd, Plexus Energy Ltd, Suncool Storage, SunCulture Kenya Ltd, and Sunspot Energy Kenya (Spark Possibilities).
• This initiative addresses the challenge of businesses lacking access to productive appliances despite growing electricity access in Africa, aiming to make these crucial tools more affordable and accessible.
