The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has threatened to postpone or cancel the upcoming Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election, scheduled for July 16, due to widespread electoral malpractices and security concerns.

• IEBC Chairperson Erastus Ethekon warned that the commission would take "drastic steps" if the environment is not conducive for a credible poll.
• The commission is investigating allegations of voter bribery, violence, destruction of campaign materials, and the use of hired goons.
