The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has warned that the upcoming Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election, scheduled for July 16, could be postponed or cancelled due to security concerns.

• The IEBC might postpone or cancel the by-election if the security situation is deemed unsafe for voters, officials, and candidates.
• IEBC Chairperson Erastus Ethekon stated the commission's commitment to safety, even if it means drastic measures.
• Holding the election is estimated to cost approximately Sh30 million, according to the IEBC.
