Kenya has officially launched the Strengthening Policy Frameworks for Women’s Participation in Peace and Security Governance programme (2026–2028).

• The initiative will be piloted across ten ASAL counties, including Garissa, Samburu, and Mombasa.
• Key players include Act Change Transform (Act!), the Embassy of Denmark in Kenya, and the Government of Kenya through the State Department for Gender and Affirmative Action.
• A central element is the adoption of the Pledge for Transformative Women, Peace and Security Partnership, aiming for measurable action beyond symbolic representation.
