President William Ruto has directed all county governments to waive business permit fees for two years for beneficiaries of the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) Programme. This initiative aims to reduce the cost of doing business for young entrepreneurs.

Over Ksh3.05 billion has been disbursed to more than 122,000 young entrepreneurs nationwide under the NYOTA Programme.
The directive was issued by President William Ruto during the launch of the second tranche of the NYOTA Start-Up Capital Programme in Nairobi.
The Intergovernmental Budget and Economic Council (IBEC) and county governments are tasked with developing and implementing the fee waiver.
