The Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) has won an initial legal victory, as the High Court dismissed an objection by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Authority regarding the closure of KIM's campuses.

• The TVET Authority had revoked KIM's accreditation and ordered its campuses closed on April 20, 2026.
• The High Court ruled that the TVET Authority failed to demonstrate it followed mandatory procedures, like issuing a written notice for rectification, before closure.
• Justice William Musyoka found that the appeal to the Cabinet Secretary was permissive ("may") rather than mandatory ("shall").
• The case will now proceed to a full hearing after the TVET Authority files its substantive response.
