The Universities Fund is urging 202,133 students placed in public universities for the 2026/2027 academic year to apply for government scholarships through the Higher Education Financing portal before the September 6, 2026 deadline.

• KSh30.8 billion has been allocated for scholarships in the 2026/2027 financial year.
• The application period is open from July 8 to September 6, 2026.
• Scholarships are awarded based on a student’s financial need and program cost, with funds disbursed directly to public universities for tuition fees.
