A tragic road accident in Uganda has claimed the lives of at least 20 schoolchildren and one adult when a bus carrying pupils on a study trip crashed in the Kapchorwa area on Thursday evening.

• At least 20 pupils and 1 adult were killed.
• The bus belonged to King David Junior School in Ndejje and was carrying students on a trip to Sipi Falls.
• The crash occurred on Chekwatit Hill, reportedly due to a mechanical fault and the driver losing control.
