NLP candidate Stephen Wanyoike Waithaka garnered 103 votes.
NLP Party Leader Dr. Augustus Kyalo Muli views the performance as a sign of growing support for the party, which has been under his leadership for only two years.
The by-election was won convincingly by Sammy Douglas Waweru Kamau of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) with 35,440 votes.
