Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has shrugged off his recent removal as Senate Deputy Minority Whip, stating that youth supporters now want him addressed as ‘His Excellency’. He made these remarks during the Linda Mwananchi tour in Mwatate Town, Taita Taveta County, on Saturday.

Sifuna was replaced as Senate Deputy Minority Whip by Migori Senator Eddy Oketch.
The removal has caused an uproar within the Azimio coalition, which rejected the process and accused some ODM senators of orchestrating the changes.
Azimio also alleged that the reshuffle was influenced by consultations at State House between President William Ruto and some ODM leaders.
