Augustino Neto, leader of the United Green Movement (UGM) party, has urged the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to take action against politicians inciting violence to ensure peace in the upcoming 2027 General Election.

• The IEBC is called upon to bar politicians involved in perpetrating violence from contesting in future elections.
• The call comes amidst concerns over recent violence witnessed during the Ol Kalau parliamentary by-election and at opposition rallies across the country.
• Neto emphasized the need to prevent a recurrence of the 2007 post-election violence and ensure free and fair elections.
