BasiGo and Rubis Energy Kenya are launching a network of public EV fast chargers at the company's petrol stations across Kenya's highways, aiming to expand charging infrastructure beyond Nairobi.

• The initiative features 100kW DC fast chargers with CCS2 and GB/T connectors, capable of charging a typical passenger car in under an hour at a rate of KES 48 per kWh.
• Key organizations involved are BasiGo, an electric vehicle startup, and Rubis Energy Kenya, a major fuel retailer.
• The first charger is operational at the Rubis Sabaki station in Athi River, with three more opening this month in Meru, Nanyuki, and Nyeri, marking the first public EV chargers outside Nairobi.
