Construction has officially commenced on the state-backed Raila Odinga Mausoleum in Siaya County following the handover of the Kang’o ka Jaramogi site to the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).

• The project was initiated nearly nine months after the passing of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on October 15, 2025.
• The National Museums of Kenya (NMK) had previously allocated Sh30 million for the site's development into a national heritage monument.
• Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya directed the KDF engineers to complete the construction within two months, assuring that quality would not be compromised.
