Mozilla has finally delivered one of its most requested media features: Firefox 153 now supports High Dynamic Range (HDR) video playback for Windows users with compatible displays.

• This update allows users to experience improved brightness, contrast, and a wider color range on supported websites like YouTube.
• The feature is enabled by default for users running Windows 10 or Windows 11 with an HDR-capable display.
• Firefox 153 supports BT.2100 PQ (HDR10) and BT.2100 HLG video formats, though some limitations regarding tone mapping and specific video recordings still exist.
