The United Kingdom has moved a planned military training exercise, 'Haraka Storm', from Kenya to Tanzania after the required licences were not approved.

• The exercise, originally scheduled for Laikipia between September and November, will now take place in a neighbouring country.
• This decision follows months of tension over the proposed Defence Cooperation Agreement (DCA), which governs the operations of the British Army Training Unit Kenya (BATUK).
• Concerns raised include British troops accused of offences remaining subject to UK jurisdiction rather than Kenyan courts, and allegations of impunity related to past incidents.
