Kenyan athletes Anatasha Cheptoo and Mercy Chepng’eno are aiming to reclaim Kenya's 3000m Steeplechase title at the 21st World Athletics Under 20 Championships in Oregon, USA, from August 5th to 9th.

The duo, who won gold and silver respectively at the Africa Under 20 Championships, seek to emulate their mentor, Olympic and world champion Faith Cherotich, who won the title in 2022.
Cheptoo, 18, is targeting gold and a personal best, inspired by Cherotich's discipline.
Chepng’eno, also 18, is aiming for a podium finish in her last junior event, with a personal best of 9:30 and aspirations for the 2028 Olympics.
