A Kenyan Court of Appeal has reduced a bouncer's conviction from murder to manslaughter and halved his sentence to 12 years for the fatal stabbing of a club patron.

• The bouncer, Mickey Ochieng Ambet, was found responsible for the death of Brian Odhiambo Oiro at Embassy Lounge in Ahero on January 2, 2019.
• The court ruled that while Ambet unlawfully caused Oiro's death, the evidence did not prove the malice aforethought required for a murder conviction.
• The victim died after being stabbed and locked in a club washroom during a chaotic disturbance.
