President William Ruto has strongly defended the Social Health Authority (SHA), asserting it is "ten times better" than the former National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) despite ongoing criticisms.

• SHA is reportedly disbursing approximately Sh12 billion monthly compared to NHIF's Sh5.6 billion quarterly, and has registered 32 million Kenyans versus NHIF's eight million.
• President William Ruto made these remarks during an engagement with Community Health Promoters (CHPs).
• The President contrasted SHA's financial performance by highlighting a specific hospital's increased funding from Sh200,000 monthly to over Sh6 million.
