Motorists in Nairobi are advised to prepare for significant traffic disruptions as the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a partial closure of Waiyaki Way near the Global Trade Centre (GTC) for a month.

  • The closure affects the Mombasa-bound lanes of Waiyaki Way between GTC and Villarosa Kempinski from Friday, July 31, 2026, to Monday, August 31, 2026.
  • This maintenance work is part of a Ksh4.5 billion capacity enhancement and beautification project for roads linking JKIA to ABC Place.
  • Thousands of motorists travelling to and from estates including Westlands and Parklands, as well as those using the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway, will be impacted.
