The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has launched independent investigations into several political leaders accused of hate speech and ethnic incitement ahead of the 2027 General Election.

• NCIC emphasized that "no individual, regardless of office or standing, is beyond the reach of the law" concerning credible hate speech allegations.
• Key figures under probe include former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Cabinet Secretaries Aden Duale and Geoffrey Ruku, and several other political leaders.
• The commission, in a joint statement with the Inter-Religious Council of Kenya (IRCK), warned that divisive rhetoric and cyber harassment threaten national cohesion and human dignity.
