Apple has launched a new leasing program for its hardware in the United States, simultaneously discontinuing the iPhone Upgrade Program.

• Customers can now lease iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple Watches through Klarna for a fixed monthly payment, with a $17.99/month entry price for an iPhone lease.
• The new Apple Upgrade program shifts from ownership to usage, meaning customers do not own the device at the end of the lease term unless they pay a separate purchase fee.
• This change marks a departure from the previous iPhone Upgrade Program, which bundled AppleCare+ and offered device ownership after 24 months.
