Kenyan seafarers have united to improve their welfare and working conditions through a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between three key organizations.

• Key organizations involved include the Seafarers Union of Kenya (SUK), Kenya Seafarers Welfare Association (KSWA), and the Independent Mkunazini Seafarers Organisation (IMSO).
• The agreement aims to tackle issues such as inadequate sea-time opportunities, delayed document issuance, unemployment among cadets, unfair recruitment, and insufficient social protection, while also enhancing negotiations with government and industry stakeholders.
