The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has detained two persons of interest in connection with the fatal shooting of Dr. Victoria Nthunya Mutiso in an ambush in Nairobi's Upper Hill on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

• Dr. Victoria Nthunya Mutiso, a prominent clinical psychologist and mental health researcher, was shot and killed.
• The DCI is leading the investigation and has recovered exhibits undergoing forensic analysis.
• Mutiso was ambushed while traveling in a taxi near Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).
